Online Gambling Bill Faces Roadblock

Latest news reports indicate Senate is dragging their feet, due to gambling interests and their money.

Reports of legislative aides say the gambling bill on the Senate floor is unlikely to pass before the Senators begin summer recess on August 4th. Many believe that large gambling money interest and lobbyists are holding up the process.

The gambling industry is a major contributor to Senators, and this type of opposition to the bill is no surprise.

The Internet Gambling Prohibition and Enforcement Act passed in the House earlier this month, prohibiting the majority of forms of Internet gambling, making it illegal for banks and major credit card companies to transact monies.

Many supporters of the online gambling ban are hopeful the bill will pass the Senate later this year.
